Accounts Assistant

We are looking for a highly motivated individual to join our expanding Audit and Business Advisory team. You will be self-motivated, capable of working on your own initiative and have the ability to plan, control and complete audit engagements for a diverse portfolio of clients. You will have direct access to senior management and the ability to provide a valued opinion within the team. Main responsibilities:

  • Assist with accounts preparation using Xero, Sage and Quickbooks

  • Manage the general ledger process and associated month end close activities

  • Preparation of monthly and quarterly management accounts

  • Posting of bank transactions and completing bank reconciliations

  • Maintain the purchases and sales ledger, processing invoices, receipts and payments

  • Reviewing and filing VAT returns

  • Other ad hoc finance tasks as required

  • Assist in maintaining and developing client relationships

  • Responsible for development and mentoring of trainees

Skills and attributes:

  • Experience of accountancy packages such as Xero, Sage and Quickbooks is essential

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role

  • An IATI qualification or similar would be an advantage

  • Excellent debit and credit knowledge

  • Excellent attention to detail

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel

  • Capable of working on your own initiative

  • Team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
